GRADUATE ASSISTANT, Office of the Vice Chancellor (OVC)-Office of Experiential Learning-Priscilla King Gray (PKG) Public Service Center (six part-time openings, 19 hrs/wk.), to join a small, collegial, and welcoming office whose mission is to tap and expand MIT students’ unique skills and interests to prepare them to explore and address complex social and environmental challenges. The center educates students to collaborate ethically and effectively with community partners to engage in meaningful public service, today and in their lives beyond MIT.  Will join the center for the 2024-2025 academic year and possibly into the summer of 2024 and 2025.  Will support all aspects of the program and gain professional development in social impact and higher education.  Positions are available in these programs:

The PKG Center offers a lively office atmosphere and a lot of interaction with students and each other.  Will join a cohort of about eight graduate assistants from local universities and the PKG team of eight full-time staff. 

REQUIRED: enrollment as a graduate student at a Boston-area university in a related field, e.g., higher education management, international development, social work, public policy, student development, etc.; ability to work independently and as part of a team; comfort juggling different tasks and working with varied stakeholders; attention to detail; strong organizational, project management, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; ability to comfortably navigate or learn platforms like Google Drive, Canva, Canvas, Airtable, Tableau, or other data management and visualization systems; and sound judgment and discretion with sensitive information/documents.  Job #23964-1

Rate of pay: $18.00/hour

These are part-time, non-benefits eligible (19 hours a week) positions with hybrid work schedules (in-person at PKG Center office and remote) and occasional evening and weekend hours.
