The Journal of Technology in Student Affairs provides a forum for the student affairs practitioners and graduate faculty on issues relating to technology in student affairs and higher education. Technological advances occur on an almost daily basis, and student affairs practitioners and faculty are becoming hard-pressed to keep up with this rapidly expanding realm. The goal of this journal is to become an indispensable tool for student affairs professionals at all levels, who are trying to cope with and understand the ever-changing technological world.
Manuscripts can be research-based, descriptive in nature, thought pieces, or book reviews. Interactive documents, which can stimulate online discussions, are also encouraged. Practice-oriented articles should go beyond the basic "how to" and focus on the impact (good and bad) that technology has on the work of student affairs. For example, an article about how to use the database FileMaker Pro would not be appropriate, but a submission describing an innovative utilization of the software would.
Manuscripts of all lengths will be considered, but preferred manuscripts will be between 3 and 15 double-spaced, typed pages. All articles must relate to student affairs/higher education and technology to some degree.
Both solicited and unsolicited book reviews are accepted. If you are interested in reviewing a recent book, and do not own the book, contact the Executive Editor who may purchase the book for you. Reviewers may keep their reviewed book.
All manuscripts must follow the style guidelines of the
Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th edition). We encourage the use of HTML formatting, thus allowing articles to link to other resources, in manuscripts and book reviews.
