We are proud to present our 23nd semester of StudentAffairs.com's online professional development courses. For the past seven years, StudentAffairs.com has offered a variety of online, professional development programs for student affairs professionals. (View Archive of Past Courses)

The online courses are a way for student affairs administrators--at all levels--to supplement both their formal and experiential education. The Web is the perfect tool to involve practitioners from all parts of the country, at all size institutions, and at all levels. Participants interacting from such diverse backgrounds will be creating a unique and highly charged learning environment.

Course 1: Face the Facts: Online Communities Are the Way College Students Communicate
Summary: This three week short course is geared to new, entry-level professionals and will provide participants with the opportunity to focus on their entry into a professional position in student affairs. In particular, we will look at supervision, how to be a strong supervisee, building a support network on campus, networking in the profession and professional ethics.

Summary: This four week professional development course will introduce academic affairs in simple, straightforward terms to student affairs professionals.

Course 3: A Student Affairs Professional's Guide to Data Reporting Using SPSS for Windows

Course 6: Academic Integrity On Our Campus … What To Do?
Summary: Participants will address various ways to adjudicate academic integrity issues properly, and how to go about facilitating positive and fruitful relationships between students, faculty and staff on this topic. The class will also define plagiarism and address how to recognize it and work with staff, faculty and students in preventing it. Resources will be identified for proper citation.

Course 7: Facilitating Student Diversity Education Experiences: A Guide for New Professionals
Summary: New professionals asked to facilitate student diversity training experiences may feel unprepared for the challenge. Summary: This course will cover three modules: 1)Psychosocial Student Development Theories based on the work of Erik Erikson, 2)Cognitive Structural Development Theories based on the work of Jean Piaget, and 3)Person Environment and Typology Theories including Holland's theory of vocational types, Jung theory of personality type, and Kolb's theory of experiential learning.
