MGT 304.01, Small and Family Business Management

 

Spring Semester, 02/03/2025-05/25/2025, TTH 5:10 PM - 6:25 PM

 

Moraga Campus

 

The small and family business course provides a broad overview of topics relevant to understanding the nature and dynamics of small business, family business and entrepreneurial families. It covers topics such as identifying the pervasiveness of family entrepreneurship and its economic and social contributions, governance and succession of privately held businesses, the management of change and transgenerational value creation, conflict management, and legal matters relating to small and family businesses. Topics also include practices and strategies for employee motivation, green marketing, franchising, e-commerce, and technology.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Ph.D. degree in Strategy or Entrepreneurship or a closely related field and a recent publication record in the field, OR

 

- A Master’s degree in Strategy or Entrepreneurship or a closely related field and five years of current, relevant professional experience.

 

- Candidates should have a successful record of teaching experience at the undergraduate level and experience/familiarity with online/hybrid instruction in order to prepare for contingencies. This position requires all course work to be performed in the state of California. Candidates must perform all course-related work within the state of California.

 

- Salary: $6,480 and $10,308 dependent on qualifications.
