The Teacher Education department Saint Mary's College seeks to hire a per-course adjunct to teach SPED class. Candidates should be comfortable in a student-centered teaching environment with an interactive learning style. Work in a highly collaborative and cultural diverse classroom environment. Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education.

 

This course provides an introduction to assessment, curriculum and instruction, and case management of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Candidates will also gain knowledge and skills related to the teaching of reading (standard 9), teaching English learners (standard 10), curriculum and instruction for students with disabilities (Standard 13), and the broad range of services delivery options in K-12 public schools.

 

Qualifications:

 

Master's Degree in Education or related field

 

SPED background

 

Candidates should also demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education; be comfortable in a student-centered teaching environment with an interactive learning style; comfortably work in a highly collaborative and culturally diverse classroom environment. Strong commitment to undergraduate, liberal arts education. Candidates must reside in California.

 

Salary: $6,480-$10,308 dependent on qualifications. The salary range for this position is covered by the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the College and SEIU, Local 1021, available https://drive.google.com/file/d/1iMq54hZVvyJovI2FtEnCVQKpNqW7J8ed/view?usp=share_link.
